Variable
air volume systems save energy because there is no need to mix the
supply cool air, which is simply modulated in accordance with the
thermal load of the room controlled.
In
addition, fan motor power input decreases as supply air flow is
reduced.
In variable air volume distribution systems, a
master unit, fitted with a thermostat and an air flow controller
can control seven slave terminals. Conventional balancing dampers
required in duct systems are thus eliminated.
